The Search for the Greatest Composers of all Times

The Task: As a group of expert concert organizers you are responsible for arranging a world famous concert and designing a program brochure. Your group will be assigned a particular time period and country from which you will select your candidates and their musical compositions for this concert.
Purpose: To develop skills in utilizing Internet resources to enhance the classroom study of Music History. You will also expand your knowledge of composers and musical styles from different musical periods and cultures.
Objectives: Upon completion of this task you will have:
- An increased understanding of the resources available on the Internet.
- A working knowledge of navigating the net.
- Researched and written a short biography on a composer from a particular time period and culture.
- Given creative expression and artistic skill in designing a program brochure.
How: Your team of experts will be assigned a time period and a country. Your first job will be to find out which composers and/or musicians you have to choose from.
